DPA New Mexico will be conducting drug education and prevention trainings in 2008 and 2009 around the state. These hands-on trainings will assist educators and prevention specialists in learning how to use Just4Teens most effectively, and how to incorporate interactive drug prevention and education techniques into classroom and group settings. Don't miss this chance to get the latest information on drug prevention! If you or your program/school are interested in getting a free training, please contact our office at 505-983-3277 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it . DPA New Mexico has played a leadership role in promoting effective programs and policies that address youth substance abuse. In October 2007, DPA New Mexico organized and hosted a two-day conference entitled, "Building Positive Communities: A Public Health Approach to Teen Methamphetamine Prevention." The conference was attended by more than 300 teachers, school health and juvenile justice professionals, counselors, community prevention specialists, and parents. The conference provided current information about addiction and drug use trends, "hands-on" workshops featuring the best practices in drug education, and opportunities for networking with colleagues from around the state.
